Frank L. Bowser School – Last week at FLB we held an Art Appreciation week. Students in K-5
learned about African culture and participated in some African drumming and storytelling. Grade 5
students had additional workshops and learned a song, a dance, and started creating an African mask.
Deana Musgraves was also at the school showing the students the Van Gogh art exhibit and teaching
students how to appreciate various types of art. Finally, the week ended with students walking around
the school and appreciating the artwork that has been created by the students. Students left sticky
notes on the artwork explaining why they appreciated the work.
